Let IFI handle your most difficult or time-sensitive searches. Use IFI's patent experts to find the answers to your patent questions. Custom U.S. patent searches are done in the CLAIMS® databases, using a search strategy formulated by an experienced IFI patent searcher and based on your search request. Your search results will include a list of patent references retrieved in the search, with abstracts and patent numbers. IFI will tailor a patent research program to meet your specific goals, while keeping your time and budgetary restraints in mind. No one knows the ins and outs of the IFI indexing system better — or can deliver better search results — than the IFI staff who created the database and use it every day. IFI can locate U.S. patent references in any technology back to 1963, searching the most appropriate combination of classification, text, assignment, and citation data. For chemical and biological technologies, IFI uses its highly effective, proprietary system of intellectual indexing to find references to U.S. patents granted from 1950 forward. Alert Search Service Use IFI's Alerting Search Service to watch your competitors' activity, check for infringement of your patented technology, or to keep abreast of the latest patenting activity in your area of specialization. If you are spending time paging through the Official Gazette each week to monitor U.S. patent activity, talk to us about our alerting service. Our patent specialists will work with you to design an effective strategy for monitoring patents of interest. We will then search all U.S. patents issued each week by the U.S. Patent Office, and deliver the references to you electronically, before you even receive your Official Gazette in the mail. You choose the format and frequency You can request alerting searches weekly, monthly, or quarterly, and we provide references in a variety of formats, some including independent claims from the patent.
