Early April 2018: Translations for EP and WO Records
As we announced in March, we have added English translations to EP and WO records that were filed in languages other than English.
For EP records these are the translated fields that we added:
- Abstracts: 332,878
- Descriptions: 1,389,918
- Claims: 859,589
- Abstracts: 4,262
- Descriptions : 1,070,417
- Claims 1,070,539
Late April 2018: WO Records in Asian Languages
We have processed a WIPO backfile of records in Asian languages. The total number of records included in this backfile with new or updated Asian language text is 211,915 and the load-id is 304475. We are currently processing machine translations to English for these records.

Pharmaceutical data
We have integrated content from FDA’s Orange Book and Australian register data.
New Korean and Brazilian records
- 2.2 million Korean full text records from 1979 to 2005. English full text is available for these documents and they represent a significant amount of information for patent searchers.
- 10,000 full text Brazilian records, including the original filing language and English translations.
We have released the Legal Status service for our API. The Legal Status service exposes legal events from the USPTO PAIR data as well as EPO INPADOC. Customers who would like to be a BETA tester for this new service should email support@ificlaims.com for more information.
Timeliness improvement of Japanese data
At IFI we know how important it is for our clients to have high quality data delivered as quickly as possible. We are happy to announce that we have improved average timeliness of Japanese data from 2-3 weeks to 2-3 days from publication date.
